2016 Razzie Nominations Highlight the Worst of the Worst in Movies

With the 88th Academy Awards coming up on February 28th, it's also time for the other end of the spectrum, The Razzie Awards. It's a list of films nominated for being the worst of the worst. Some films this year were a little surprising, some not so much.

Topping the list this year is Fifty Shades of Grey. For all the hype the book received, I was surprised this one landed in the Razzie lineup. I haven't read any of the books, I think based solely on the fact that I didn't want to be caught reading these books. Other "nominees" for worst picture include, Fantastic Four, Jupiter Ascending, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, and Pixels.

These selections don't surprise me in the least, I didn't even need to see them to know they would be terrible. The Adam Sandler "brat pack" (Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock, etc.) seems to be losing their touch. Many of the actors in these films also made the worst actor/actress list.

If only there was an awards show like the Razzies for TV, maybe a few of these ridiculous reality TV stars would quit their shows. We can only hope.
