Northland travelers will now have additional options for traveling into and out of the Duluth International Airport thanks to an announcement from American Airlines.

The Duluth International Airport announced that American Airlines will begin offering direct flights to and from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport beginning May 23, 2019.

According to their press release, American Airlines will operate four daily flights on the route, with two direct flights from Duluth to Chicago and two direct flights from Chicago to Duluth.  All flights will utilize the ER4 aircraft, designed for shorthaul domestic segments and featuring fifty seats in a 1-2 layout that is popular among travelers.

Tom Werner, Executive Director for the Duluth International Airport is thrilled to welcome American Airlines to the area, “Duluth now has the largest airlines in the world serving this region and offering connections to more destinations than ever before.”, he stated.

Tickets for the new flights go will go on sale Monday, January 28, 2019.
