I grew up with mom and dad, who was also in radio, exposing me to the likes of Barry Manilow, Bread, Melissa Manchester and other 70's soft rock staples. Hey, I can appreciate the good in any genre of music but that was a lot of work. I do love Neil Diamond, especially because he has an album called "Velvet Gloves and Spit". I was in the 7th grade at Washington Junior High School when my life would change. A kid at school, name Lee Burger, had a cassette of Van Halen's "Fair Warning" that he had to get rid of. He told me it had swearing on it and his mom wouldn't let him have it. Sold! I believe I gave him $2 and a lunch ticket for my first Van Halen cassette and it was the best money I ever spent. I would listen to that all the time, and then would save money so that I could buy even more Van Halen music, listening very closely to it all on my shiny new Sony Walkman. Realizing there's a whole new world out there, all my money and every birthday wish list would go towards music. Van Halen led to Led Zepplin, then the likes of Aerosmith, Kiss, AC/DC, Rush, Journey, and on and on. This was the 80's and the MTV Generation so I also got into the likes of Ratt, Dokken, Skid Row, Poison, Whitesnake and all the other bands that sang about parties and had hot girls in their videos. Hey, I was a chubby kid with a mullet so I had to live vicariously through these guys. Bottom line I loved music as a kid and that has never changed. I love the rock that we play everyday on Sasquatch 106-5 and I thank you for joining us for the party. Let us know what you want to hear and what you want to see at SquatchRocks.com.
