The Bayfield Apple Festival, one of the great fall traditions, is coming October 5 - October 8 and it's well worth the beautiful drive to Bayfield, Wisconsin.

According to organizers, this year's festival will include:

The crowning of the Apple Queen, and apple peeling contest and a Saturday evening fish fry at the historic Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion. The festival culminates with the Grand Parade, featuring a mass band with 400 participants playing On Wisconsin, marching down historic Rittenhouse Avenue, to Lake Superior.

There's a reason over 50,000 visitors visit the Bayfield Apple Festival from all over the Midwest.  I can say from personal experience that the variety of food is extraordinary, including the adult beverages that follow in the apple theme.  With all the unique food and drink, remember to try a caramel apple because sometimes the basic treat is the best of all.

There's also live music, kayak demos, a great variety of arts and crafts vendors, and plenty to do and see for the kids.
