Grandma’s Marathon

Marathons, and related races, can be messy affairs. Runners bring extra clothes that are discarded along the course, cups of water are tossed to the ground and food wrappers abound. Grandma's Marathon recognizes this and is working towards becoming a zero waste event.

Grandma's Marathon weekend is coming up June 15 - June 16 and the upcoming Gearing Up For Grandma's pre-race seminar will help kick training into full gear.

If running is a part of your 2018 fitness plans, Grandma's Marathon announced that registration is now open for all Young Athletes Foundation races.

As 2017 winds down, it's the perfect time to start turning our attention to our plans and goals for 2018. If one such goal is to conquer Grandma's Marathon, why not sign up this year and save money?

If want to participate in any of the Grandma's Marathon races next year, make sure you're logged on and ready to register at 5:00 p.m. this Sunday, October 1.   Remember, there is no longer lottery in place for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and runners will get in on a first-come, first-served basis. That race could fill up fast.

The 1990s (and early 2000s) were alive and well on Friday night for Grandma's Marathon Weekend 2017 as organizers welcomed rockers Everclear and opening acts Vertical Horizon and Fastball.

With thousands of runners and spectators taking part in the 2017 Grandma’s Marathon festivities, we’re keeping an eye on the weather for you.

Grandma's Marathon weekend brings a lot of runners and spectators to the Northland, who will all be busy Saturday with the main race and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.  It also means that there's fun, live entertainment both Friday and Saturday nights in Canal Park.
