The UMD Bulldogs move to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) for the 2013-2014 season, and look to make a statement as a standout in the new field of rivals.

The Major League Baseball season is here...many major league baseball teams have opened training camps, as pitcher and catchers report to spring training in Florida and Arizona.

The Northland is nationally known for many things, most of them related to cold. Many hockey legends grew up here, we regularly make the national news for being one of the coldest places in the country - well, you get the idea.

The UMD men’s hockey team is entering a key weekend in WCHA play.  They are hosting the Denver Pioneers for the first time and last time this year.

UMD men’s and women’s hockey teams helped to raised over $14,000 for cancer outreach programs over the weekend, as they wore special pink jerseys and autographed them after the game.

Former Bulldogs Head Football Coach Bob Nielson recently left UMD to be the Head Coach at Western Illinois. Monday the Leathernecks announced that two former Bulldogs will be joining him.

The UMD men’s hockey team will have a short bench on Friday.  Head Coach Scott Sandelin suspended three players for recently violating team rules.

UMD men’s hockey team is good on the first night of series; they are 5-2-1. Then, comes game two.  The Bulldogs are 0-6-2. Not the perfect formula, but it is what it is, with a young UMD Men’s hockey team with nine freshmen on the roster.

Saturday night was more than just a basketball game. UMD Head Men’s basketball Coach Matt Bowen has only been on the job for 7 regular season games, 8 if you can count an exhibition game with UWS. But he had to coach against a team that he knows just about everything.  From what they like to eat, and who is in their family.
