The Minnesota State Primary Election is set to take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.  If you intend to pre-register to vote in the primary, you still have time to return your voter registration cards to the Duluth City Clerk's office.  The deadline is Tuesday, July 19.

According to the City of Duluth, voter registration cards may be obtained through July 19th from the City Clerk’s Office, Room 330, 411 W. 1st Street, at public libraries, or just follow the link below to access the application online.

Basic requirements to vote in the State Primary Election are as follows:

  • You must have become 18 years of age on or before August 9, 2016
  • You must have lived in the State of Minnesota for 20 days prior to the election on July 19, 2016
  • You must have been a citizen for three (3) months prior to the election, which would be May 9, 2016

Absentee ballots are now available at the Duluth City Clerk's Office. The office will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, August 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Monday, August 8th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
