He had said in April, “This will be my farewell. I’m looking at retiring next year, on the 30th anniversary of the 1987 album.”  But, now it seems he's changing his tune.

Most 65 year olds would be looking to slow down and think about taking it easy, not re-energizing their careers. It seems that is just what getting back on the road did for this legendary front-man. And he has quite the history to live up to.

He started out taking over for Ian Gillan of Deep Purple from 1973 to 1976, then he had a short solo stint from 77-78 where his first solo album was titled White Snake.

From 1978 to 1982 it was Whitesnake, and all that hair, and Tawny. If it weren't for MTV, those Jaguars, and her, they might not have sold as many records.

And then he teamed up with Jimmy Page for, Coverdale Page from 1991-1993.
