Deer Stands Are Not Allowed to be Left Overnight on Wildlife Management Areas

If you're planning on hunting this weekend on a Minnesota wildlife management area, keep in mind that that you'll have to take your deer stand down at the end of each day and make sure not to cause any permanent damage to trees.

The Minnesota DNR wants to remind all hunters that deer stands cannot be left overnight on state wildlife management areas.  They say that it's become a common violation each year.

Portable stands may be used in those areas if they are removed each day at the close of shooting hours.  Also, no permanent damage is allowed so spikes or nails driven into trees if forbidden, although screwing or clamping devices are allowed if removed each day.
