The City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department has received a grant from the Keep America Beautiful Program and the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Park Bin Grant Program.  The reward is 60 new recycling bins.

According to the City Of Duluth, the city was among 41 communities selected out of 300 applicants.

The new recycling bins will be distributed to 17 parks where recycling activity has been low.  This will enable more people to recycle things like aluminum, glass and plastic containers throughout the city.

The bins will be placed in the following locations:

  • Wheeler Fields (athletic field/skate park)
  • Park Point (beach/regional park)
  • Brighton Beach (beach/regional park)
  • 12th Street Beach (beach)
  • Fairmont Park (neighborhood park)
  • Memorial Park (neighborhood park)
  • Portland Square (neighborhood park)
  • Lakewalk Trail
  • Roving Bins for Special Events
