It's a great time of year to hit the road and explore the beautiful fall colors.  It's also a time of year where some great 5Ks pop up in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  This Saturday, those two things combine for a great event near North Branch, Minnesota.

This Saturday, October 14, is the the Wild River 5K Otter Trotter Run/Walk, beginning at 10:00 a.m. from the picnic shelter.

You'll run or walk along Nevers Dam man-made dike, along the west bank of the St. Croix River, next to some native prairie and finishing along a wooded path that shows some of the past history of the logging industry.

Register in advance online, or on race-day from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the park’s picnic shelter at Wild River State Park.   Registration is $35 with a t-shirt and $25 without one.
