Green Bay Packers Cut Ribbon on Latest Round of Renovations to Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers are showing off the team's $146 million renovation and expansion project.

The team celebrated the completion of the south end with 7,000 additional seats, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday. Other improvements include the ShopKo gate, new video boards, sound system, suites, viewing platforms and 30 new concession stands.

WLUK-TV reports new season ticket holders got a look at the completed renovation.

The stadium bowl construction took 3,800 names off the season ticket waiting list. Some of those fans fill the 7,000 new seats, while others are transfers, choosing the new digs over their old original bowl seats.

The additions put Lambeau's capacity at third largest in the NFL.

The renovation project began in 2011.
