How to Fix The Minnesota Timberwolves

Once again the NBA season has come to an end, and spoiler alert.....the T-Wolves missed the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season. This franchise is starting to look like the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NBA, heck even the Charlotte bobcats made the playoffs in the past nine years, and they are in a worse situation than Minnesota is.

This was the year for this team was suppose to make a run in the playoffs, yet they are making a run to an early summer vacation.

How to fix this franchise? First of all is fire David Kahn and make sure Rick Adelman stays. Kahn has wasted draft picks, gave horrible contracts....Darko Milicic. Just imagine how this great this franchise would be if Kahn drafted Stephen Curry sixth overall in 2009 instead Kahn drafted back-to-back point guards in Ricky Rubio and then drafted Jonny Flynn.

Four years later Flynn is playing basketball overseas, and Curry just broke the NBA record for the most three pointers made in a season. Just imagine Rubio managing the point, Curry playing alongside him in the backcourt  with Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic playing down low, and Derrick William playing the small forward, that is a dangerous team.

Another thing is to make sure Adelman stays. We already know Chase Budinger will stay if Adelman stays. Adelman brings a sense of credibility to the T-Wolves that has not been here since Kevin Garnett wore number 21 for Minnesota. Even if Adelman takes over Kahn spot as General Manager, and steps down from being the head coach would be great for this franchise, because then Adelman can run the basketball operations, and would hire another great coach...cough cough Phil Jackson.

Keep Love happy. I will say this Love does deserve the max contract, but health, and his inability to keep his mouth shut has made fans turn against him, while on the other hand Rubio has at least made this team watchable, and every game is improving his skills, which is starting to make fans think Rubio is their max contract player. One theory is that this team will have to pick between Love or Rubio, I say lets pick both of them. With Rubio, and Love on this team we have a one-two punch that has lacked since Latrell Sprewell wasn't getting paid enough to feed his family. I do not want to trade Love, but if he continues to open his mouth about how horrible this franchise is, then we should trade him before he bolts for California in the summer of 2015.

This team has the pieces to be a good team, but you all know my theory, which is this franchise is cursed. How in one year can we see our promising point guard blow out his knee, and have our MVP candidate break his hand while doing push-ups? On the bright side we will have a good draft pick this season, but if Kahn is still at the helm I am worried he will try to draft Wesley Johnson again....

Let's recap. First thing that should be done is fire Kahn, next make sure Adelman stays with this franchise either as general manager or coach. Next make Love is happy, and build around him, and Rubio. If this team can somehow do that then the playoffs are not out of reach next season.
