After a decade of wondering whether or not the Minnesota Vikings might take a permanent vacation in the Los Angeles area (ala Minneapolis Lakers), the Minnesota Vikings have been granted a new home in Minnesota. The Minnesota House of Representatives passed the conference committee bill for the Vikings stadium around 3:30 this morning (May 10), and the Senate passed the bill later in the day on a 36-30 vote.

The passing of this bill in both chambers marks the final hurdle in getting a stadium deal done for the Vikings. The conference committee compromised on the Vikings contributing $50 million more than they originally agreed to, which was also agreed upon by the team. Now that a deal is done and funding is in place, Vikings fans can rest at ease knowing their team won't be without a home for the next 30-40 years.
