Fall means a beautiful change of color for Mother Nature, while an abundance of pumpkin flavored items fill the shelves of grocery and liquor stores across the Northland.  It also means that over 100 pumpkin pies will be sold for a great cause in Duluth.

Today, Wednesday, October 4, is the annual Pumpkin Pie Day at the Coppertop Church, located at 230 E Skyline Parkway.  From 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., the public is invited to purchase freshly baked pies.

Each pumpkin pie will be sold for $12 and all the profits will be used by CHUM’s Food Shelf to help stock the shelves, freezer, and cooler to ensure no one in need goes hungry.

While selling all the pies would go a long way to help those in need within our community, any leftover pies will be frozen and distributed to the families who come to the Food Shelf at Thanksgiving.
