Former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell is finally squared away with the State of California after being hit with a lein for $223,180.05 back in 2008. The lein, assessed while he was still in the NFL, was for outstanding  taxes owed.

Although he is now released from the lein, his $2.4 million house in the Oakland area is in foreclosure and set to go to auction next month if he doesn't rectify the situation with the bank.

In other news, it was announced earlier this month that Russell would be heading back to LSU to take some classes this fall. This after three less-than-stellar seasons in the NFL. Russell was drafted #1 overall in the 2007 NFL draft by the Raiders and after much hype, managed to only win 7 games over his 3 seasons in the NFL.
