We've had a few rounds of snow and there's obviously a lot more on the way, so now is a great time to make sure you're prepared for winter driving to help avoid accidents.

Last weekend, I was on some snow covered back roads in Wisconsin and even though I was in 4 wheel drive, I found myself sliding off the road.  My winter instincts kicked in and I was able to adjust the fishtailing and get back on on road, but it made me realize that I needed to officially be on winter driving alert.

While drivers need to be mentally ready for the challenges of winter, the Minnesota State Patrol used their Facebook page to remind everyone that making sure that your vehicle is prepared is also a priority.

The video below offers some terrific advice.  As my late grandpa used to say "It's better to get there late than never at all".
