The Mall of America will soon have an outdoor Ice Skating Rink for people to enjoy some skating along with their shopping and dining. Starting December 8 visitors to the mall will be able to lace up their skates and glide around a 12,000 foot custom rink called "Skate the Star."

The rink will be located at the Mall of America North entrance Star sculpture and is free and open to the public.  Jill Renslow, SVP of Business Development at Mall of America told KARE11 “An ice rink has been an experience we have always wanted to bring to life for our guests who visit Mall of America during this cherished time of year. We want our guests to experience the unexpected when they visit each year. That is why adding this ice rink is such an exciting addition to our holiday line-up. We look forward to seeing visitors from all over the world enjoy Skate the Star at MOA.”

Guests are welcome to bring their own skates, or you can rent a pair for $5.00 with all the proceeds going to The Boys and Girls Clubs of The Twin Cities. The rink will be in place at MOA until January 27.
