If you live in Minnesota and are having a bad year, you are in the minority according to WalletHub.com.  In recent study, Minnesota ranked as the 3rd happiest state, Wisconsin finished 11th.

They used the following methodology for the study:

WalletHub compared the 50 states across three key dimensions: 1) Emotional & Physical Well-Being, 2) Work Environment and 3) Community & Environment.

We evaluated those dimensions using 31 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing maximum happiness.

Finally, we determined each state’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order our sample.

Minnesota ranked #3 for safety and highest volunteer rate, while finishing #4 in the lowest divorce rate category.  You can follow the link below, and watch the video, to get complete details on the study and see where all the states ranked.

If you're wondering, Hawaii finished #1 and West Virginia finished as the least happiest state in America.
