This year's NCAA Frozen Four in Tampa, FL will without a doubt have a David vs. Goliath finale. The first of two semifinal games on April 5th features the David's---Union and Ferris State. Both teams are ironically making their first ever Frozen Four appearances. #3 ranked Union may be getting disrespected being called a David, but regardless of who the winner of this game plays on Saturday night, they will be the underdog.

Union comes into Thursday's game a heavy favorite against Ferris State after defeating Michigan State and UMass-Lowell in their first two games. Union allowed only three goals in their first two tournament games and possesses one of the most suffocating defenses in the country. It all starts with Sophomore goalie Troy Grosenick. He led the nation with 1.64 GAA and has earned himself a spot on the list of Hobey Baker Finalists. Ferris State had an equally impressive route to the Frozen Four defeating Denver and Cornell in a couple of 2-1 decisions.

In the other matchup featuring the two Goliaths, Boston College and Minnesota face off in a battle of two storied programs very familiar with their surroundings. Boston College has yet to give up a goal in the tournament, defeating Air Force 2-0 and embarrassing Minnesota Duluth 4-0 in their first two tournament games. Led by Junior Forward and first round pick of the New York Rangers, Chris Kreider, the Eagles haven't lost a game since January. Minnesota also cruised through their first two games with relative ease beating Boston University 7-3 and North Dakota 5-2. The Gopher's roster is stacked with weapons with the most lethal one being Senior goalie Kent Patterson, who led the country with 28 wins. Boston College is aiming to take home it's fifth NCAA Title and Minnesota it's sixth.

Boston College has become a regular at the Frozen Four appearing in 10 of the last 14 years.

No matter who wins the Union vs. Ferris State game, I can't see either of them managing to beat BC, who I predict will win the other semi. The Eagles are just too dominant on defense and will walk away with their third National Championship in five years.
