After a notable career, mostly with the Packers, Ahman Green is officially declaring his retirement at a press conference at 6:30 Thursday night.

Green Bay Press Gazette writer Jeff Ash reports the following about Green:

Green gained 8,322 yards on 1,851 carries, both team records, in eight seasons with the Packers, from 2000 to 2006 and in 2009. He surpassed Jim Taylor, who had 8,207 yards on 1,811 carries, during the 2009 season.

The 6-foot, 217-pounder from the University of Nebraska led the Packers in rushing a record six times, from 2000 to 2004 and in 2006. His other Packers career records include 33 games of 100 or more yards rushing.

Green came to the Packers through a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in 2000 and spent a total of 8 seasons with the Pack.
