The Minnesota DNR is in the process of gathering opinions and meeting with the public throughout the state so they can create Minnesota's first-ever deer management plan.  One such public meeting will be held in Duluth, and your thoughts would be appreciated.

The key topics that have been identified and will be covered in the management plan include:

  • Healthy deer
  • Deer population management, monitoring and research
  • Communication, information sharing, public involvement and accountability
  • Hunter and non-hunter satisfaction
  • Healthy habitat
  • Impacts of deer on other resources
  • Funding for deer management

The Duluth meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 22, at Lake Superior College, 2101 Trinity Road. The meeting will be from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in room W2630.
