Reserve Your Mall Of America Parking Spot for Christmas Shopping Convenience

If your Christmas shopping traditions take you to the Mall Of America, you now have the added convenience of reserving your parking spot ahead of time thanks to a handy app.

According to StarTribune.com, MyPark is an app-based parking system that allows shoppers and visitors to Mall Of America to reserve parking spots right by the main entrances in both the East and West parking garages.

Here is how it works:

• Download the MyPark app, then open the app to select your preferred parking location.  .
• You will get an e-mail 15 minutes before you reserved time to let you know which spot to go to.
• Upon arrival to your parking spot, you'll hit a button on your phone and a tiny little robot will lower to allow you to drive into your parking spot.

The fee is $6 for your first two hours, and $3 per additional hour.  While some may not want to pay to park, there is something to be said for not having to drive around the Mall of America parking lots hoping for a spot to open that isn't a long, cold winter hike away.
