This Saturday is the largest one-day food drive in the Nation. It's the NALC Stamp Out Hunger event. Led by the National Association of Letter Carriers, postal employees and other volunteers. So far this drive has generated more than 1.6 billion pounds of food over the past 25 years.

If you would like to donate, all you need to do is gather some non-perishable food items, put them in a bag and set them next to your mail box before your mail is delivered this Saturday the 12th. Your letter carrier will do the rest. The food will be delivered to an area food bank, then sorted and made available to a family in need.

This could not be an easier way to donate. And there is no better time than now to do it. 49 million people face hunger every day in America, 16 million of those are children. If that isn't a reason to donate, I'm not sure what is.
