Cold and wet. Sounds great if you're talking about beer. But this is what we have to look forward to this Winter according to The 2018 Farmer's Almanac. The Great lakes area out towards the Eastern part of the country will see increased precipitation, but temperatures should be somewhat "normal", whatever that means. If it's raining/snowing, chances are you won't be outside anyways.

Some specific dates have been narrowed down as being particularly nasty.

  • January 20-23
  • February 4-7
  • February 16-19
  • March 1-3
  • March 20-23

If you're thinking of heading south to escape the cold, Florida may not be your best bet. Especially considering the shape the State will be in after Irma has passed. The central portion of the country's weather isn't shaping up to be much better either. One bit of good news is that California and the West Coast are looking warm and sunny this winter.

Some people swear by these predictions, others call them hogwash. It's up to you,  handle your travel plans with care. Just remember, never put away that shovel too soon, because as soon as you do, you just know it's going to snow!
