Minnesota Vikings cornerback Asher Allen has decided to hang up his cleats after three seasons in the NFL. Head Coach Leslie Frazier announced Allen's retirement during a meeting with the press discussing the first two days of OTAs (Organized Team Activities).

Allen was drafted by the Vikings in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft, selected as the 86th overall pick out of Georgia. During his three years in the NFL, Allen earned 129 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 1 sack in 37 games.

With the departure of Allen from the team, the Vikings now have 16 defensive backs listed on the roster.
