It's the beginning of the end with a new beginning. Tenacious D have unveiled the first chapter in their animated series Post-Apocalypto, giving fans a listen to a pair of songs from their upcoming album of the same name in the process.

While the first chapter is entitled "Hope," and that is one of the two tracks you'll hear in the episode, the first piece of new music is actually the "Post-Apocalypto Theme," which runs over the opening montage for the series.

Jack Black hand drew all of the characters in the Post-Apocalypto series, with he and Kyle Gass voicing the animated characters. In the first episode, the guys face the realization that they need money to pay their rent, but then something more substantial happens and they find themselves survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. Things may seem dire for our heroes until they find "Hope." The full episode may be viewed above, while a lyric video for "Hope" as well as JB and KG's hilarious video on how to draw the members of Tenacious D can also be seen below.

Tenacious D's Post-Apocalypto album is due Nov. 2 and may be pre-ordered here. The guys are also promoting voter registration via Voterhero.com.
