Why I’m Partying Close To Home For New Year’s Eve

I had all of these grand plans to go out on New Year's Eve, maybe to more than one place, and one of them pretty far from my home.  Powerhouse Bar is walking distance to my house though so I think I might just do that.

For starters, pregaming at home is cheap, and while I don't consider myself cheap, the holiday season has hurt that pocketbook a bit so keeping costs down is preferred.  The group of people we are supposed to go out with won't make any decisions on what they want to do or where they want to go, plus have no answer to how everyone is getting home from any party spots.  Uber and Lyft were insanely priced on a recent Saturday night and I'm not paying $75 with tip to go 8 miles again.

There are a few in the group with child and you would think that means built in DD for the night out but no one seems game for playing that part.

My reasons I guess all come down to cost, how much do I want to spend to ring in the New Year or rather just another day.  If I stay closer it will cost less and probably be just as fun. so I think the closest option might be my way to go to ring in 2019.  What are your plans for ringing in the New Year?
