3 Doors Down Celebrating ‘Away From The Sun’ 20th Anniversary With Minnesota Concert This Summer

Multi-platinum, Mississippi-based rock band 3 Doors Down is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album 'Away From The Sun' with a 2023 U.S. tour that kicks off this summer, and spans into the fall. One of those stops will be in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Formed in 1996, Grammy-nominated 3 Doors Down sprung onto the worldwide music scene with their 2000 album "The Better Life", which featured hits "Kryptonite" and "Be Like That", which gained both pop and rock chart success for the band, along with rock hits "Loser" and "Duck and Run".

The band followed up the success of their debut with their 2003 album "Away from the Sun", which earned RIAA 4-time platinum certification. The album's success was powered by a pair of massive hits that saw chart success on both the rock and top 40 charts.

The first single released off the album, "When I'm Gone", saw top-10 success on numerous U.S. charts and earned gold certification.

While three other songs from the album were released as singles, "Here Without You" stands out as the biggest of the three releases following "When I'm Gone". The single achieved multi-platinum certification in the United States and achieved high success abroad, including certification in the U.K., Australia, and Denmark.

As 3 Doors Down hits the road this summer, they say they will be playing all of the songs from "Away From The Sun", plus all of their biggest hits from other albums in their catalog.

They will be joined by Seattle-based grunge/rock band Candlebox, known for their massive smash hit "Far Behind" from their 1993 debut self-titled album. This tour billing serves as a 30th-anniversary celebration for their multi-platinum debut album.

The "Away from the Sun Tour" kicks off in Baltimore, Maryland on June 14, with the 6th stop on the tour coming to Minnesota on Saturday, June 24. The bands will perform a show at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake in the Mystic Showroom.
