As everyone knows the Vikings are the best 30 minute team in the NFL, bad news is that a football game is 60 minutes. The Vikings have outscored their opponents 54-7 in the first half, but have been outscored 47-6 in the second half.As of right now the Vikings are 0-3 and are looking like they will finish in the basement of the NFC North division for the second straight year, and could be looking for some "luck" which means they could look at drafting Standford star and potentially a Heisman trophy winner Andrew Luck.

I know the Vikings have a rookie quarterback Christian Ponder on the roster, but when you compare Luck and

Ponder, its like comparing Joey Harrington and Payton Manning; both great stars in college, but only one can transform into a NFL star. If the Vikings get a new stadium, then they will defiantly need to drastically improve this team in a hurry, because the clock on the Metrodome lease is about to tick down to zero, and people do not want to pay for a billion dollar stadium to see a mediocre team play.

The Vikings are lobbying for a new stadium, but what have they done to deserve it? Compare the Minnesota Twins who got a new field and Vikings who both have used the Dome as their home field. In the last 10 years the Twins have won six Divisions, been in contention in 2008, and have only fallen flat in 2005, 2007 and now the infamous 2011 season. The Vikings have been to the playoffs four times in the last 10 years. The Vikings have had now four different coaches, and the Twins have had Ron Gardenhire for the last 10 years. If the Vikings say we deserve a new stadium, then show us the tax payers who will be paying for the new stadium that you do in deserve a new stadium by winning.

For the Vikings it might be time to give Ponder a chance, and if Ponder is not good; then its time for the Vikings to do something they have not done in a long time, and draft a "sure" thing in Luck. If you take the past five NFL drafts their have been 15 Quarterbacks drafted in the first round, but minus Matt Leinart, Vince Young, JaMarcus Russel and Tim Tebow who have been a bust, and look at Matt Ryan, Josh Freeman, Matt Staford, Sam Bradford, and now Cam Newton who have all burst onto the NFL scene as stars. If the Vikings want support then quit picking up old Veterans and get a young talented quarterback who can become their leader.

What I am trying to say is that right now the new stadium is not on the horizon for the Vikings, because whats going on the field is casting a dark shadow on their new stadium quest. The Vikes are 0-3, heading for a 3-13 season, and should really look into drafting Andrew Luck, and rebuild from there, because what we are seeing now is that this team deserves to continue to play in the Dome until something drastically changes.
