Annual Water Safety Expo and Sand Modeling Contest is Thursday at Park Point Beach

The forecast is plenty warm to hit the beach this week, so the timing is perfect for the Water Safety Expo and Sand Modeling Contest at Park Point Beach.

The City of Duluth is holding the fun summer event, which is free to the public, on Thursday, July 20, from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.

The day features a sand modeling contest, games and several demonstrations on safety topics such as rescue boards, throw rings, life jackets in addition to demonstrations on weather safety, rip currents and kayaking.

The YMCA will be offering activities and contests in hula-hooping, tug of war, stand up paddle board demos, and more.

The sand modeling will begin at 11:00AM and judging will start at 1:30PM.

Load the family into the car and drive to the end of Park Point to have a great day, just make sure to remember the sunscreen and a cooler full of cold water to drink.
