David Leitch Will Direct Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Fast and Furious’ Spinoff
Sorry, Vin Diesel, but The Rock just won this round.
This ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Gag Reel Has a Baby-8, You’re Welcome
And it’s just the cutest.
Danny Boyle Will Direct ‘Bond 25’ Later This Year
It seems to be official — the long, tiresome saga surrounding the next James Bond movie has finally come to an end. Daniel Craig will once again don his suit and tie, with Danny Boyle getting behind the camera to direct the 25th installment of the iconic 007 franchise…as long as the script meets his approval.
‘Terminator’ Reboot Casts ‘Halt and Catch Fire’s Mackenzie Davis
The fun thing about the Terminator franchise is how its wacky timeline justifies ignoring any bad sequels or reboots — like Genisys, a movie you probably forgot existed until this very moment. In the world of Terminator, every movie is a do-over; it’s sort of meta, when you think about it. So it’s not surprising that Arnold Schwarzenegger is at it again with another reboot, and he’s found his leading lady in Mackenzie Davis.
‘The Last Jedi’ Alternate Scene Gives Phasma and Finn a Different Showdown
Even those who adored Rian Johnson’s Star Wars sequel (like us) can probably agree that at least one thing was a little lacking: Captain Phasma. Although we were excited for the return of Gwendoline Christie’s super shiny and ultra-intimidating trooper, she didn’t have a whole lot to do in The Last Jedi. Given the focus of Johnson’s story, that’s understandable, but we would’ve liked to see just a teeny bit more from Christie’s antagonist. Thanks to this alternate scene, now we can.
John Travolta Is Playing a Crazy Stalker in a Movie Directed by Fred Durst (Yes, That One)
Say what you will about John Travolta’s career, but you can’t deny that it’s been interesting. And the actor’s latest cinematic curiosity is no exception, though you may need a moment to really process every insane element in the following statement: Travolta is playing a psychotic stalker obsessed with an action movie hero played by Devon Sawa in a new thriller titled Moose, from director Fred Durst. Yes, that Fred Durst — as in the one who rap-rocked about “nookie” and boasted a seemingly endless supply of Adidas athleisurewear during Nu Metal’s reign of terror.
You Have to Watch This Kid’s Adorable Remake of ‘Black Panther’s Challenge Scene
The M’Baku Challenge has a clear winner.
Adam Sandler Sang Some Really Filthy Songs in the NYC Subway
Today’s youth (and some adults — ugh, we’re so old) probably know Adam Sandler best from movies like Grown-Ups and his more recent Netflix releases. But some say they’ve heard whispers of a before time, when Adam Sandler was on SNL, and when he starred in movies that people really liked and that were actually released in theaters…they’ve even heard rumors that the ol’ Sandman once released comedic albums on mythical relics known as “cassette tapes” and “compact discs.” Children, everything you’ve heard is true.
‘Jurassic World 3’ Sets an Official 2021 Release Date
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (they’re really sticking with that, aren’t they) doesn’t hit theaters until this summer, but Universal is already plotting the next sequel — and they’ve enlisted a new (female!) screenwriter to lend Colin Trevorrow a hand. Jurassic World 3 will officially wreak havoc on a theater near you in 2021. Given Fallen Kingdom’s ridiculous “rescue the dinosaurs from extinction (again)” plot, we have to assume that — spoiler? — the dinos will continue to terrorize humans in some capacity because clearly these people have learned nothing.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Has Also Joined That ‘Kung Fury’ Movie
Arnold Schwarzenegger is the President of the United States of America…in a movie, at least. The action icon and former Governator of California has joined the cast of Kung Fury, the upcoming feature film based on David Sandberg’s 2015 short film of the same name. Schwarzenegger is the latest name to join the full-length version of the cult favorite, which is set in the ’80s and pays homage to the martial arts and cop flicks of the era.
