Bentleyville Announces Extension Of 2020 Season Due To High Demand
2020 has served up plenty of bummers, but this one might put a smile on some faces. Following traffic levels so high they've had to turn people away some nights, Bentleyville Tour of Lights announced they will be extending this year's season.
While initially scheduled to close on December 27, Nathan Bentley and his team of organizers with the annual holiday lights tour have decided to extend the season four more nights. This means the 2020 edition of the Bentleyville Tour of Lights will close on New Year's Eve (December 31). It gets even better, though.
Not only can you spend New Year's Eve at Bentleyville, it will be open until midnight that night! That's a whole two hours longer than their normal weekend closing time for the final night.
Beside the final night, the schedule stays the same for Bentleyville's hours:
- Sunday-Thursday: 5 pm to 9 pm
- Friday-Saturday: 5 pm to 10 pm.
- New Year's Eve (Thursday, December 31): 5 pm to midnight
While the schedule has expanded, the Facebook post from Bentleyville about the longer schedule does share that Santa's last night and the last night for free hats for kids will still be December 24.
The cost for admission is $10 per car, with cash or major credit cards being accepted at the gate. There are no advanced tickets. Nathan Bentley shared with us before the start of the 2020 season that the admission fee was new this year, and he hopes to return back to a free admission model next season. The reason for the admission fee, according to Bentley, is to cover the large costs of putting the event on that are normally paid for by parking fees, donation stations, and other on-site opportunities.
Locals are still advised to try going on weeknights, when lines are often shorter, though this year that hasn't always been the case this season as everyone's schedules have been different during the pandemic.
