For the first time in a few years, Brett Favre’s next career move hasn’t been one of the big subplots of the NFL off-season. But that doesn’t mean the 42-year-old is taking it easy. In fact, Favre has just snagged himself a new job in football, as an assistant coach at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, MS.

Favre, who grew up in the nearby Kirn, MS, had previously contributed to the Oak Grove football program in an unofficial capacity. Oak Grove is a traditional high school power in Mississippi, and now Favre, who is the all-time NFL leader in passing yards (71,838) and touchdowns (508), will be their offensive coordinator.

The three-time league MVP has lived in Hattiesburg since retiring in 2010. While he is sometimes spotted at football and baseball games at The University of Southern Mississippi, his alma mater, it is said he generally keeps a pretty low-profile around town.
