In recent weeks, the Carlton County DAV Chapter 18 has been hosting burger and brat events to help raise money for those who served our country, and could really use our help.

As Minnesota is still not fully opened that still leaves limited options for getting out of the house to grab some food.  The next dates for the burger and brat stand is on Thursday, May 21st, and Friday, May 22nd.  It will be open both days from 10:00AM-6:00PM in the Premier Theater parking lot located at 904 MN-33 in Cloquet, MN.  Social distancing will be in place for the events, they have drive-up available, and if you are ordering 3 or more meals, they will even deliver within a reasonable distance.  If you do want delivery, please call DAV Commander Stan Heuer at 218-390-8483.  Visa Transactions are now accepted too, as well as good ole cash.

While you make the stop there to grab your food, consider rolling across the highway too, to donate clothing.  Just outside of the Cloquet Armory, located at 801 MN-33, there is a long row of clothing donation bins.  They accept clean and usable clothes, shoes, and boot for disabled veterans.  It's a good way to purge those closets and make sure that what you donate goes to those who really need it and not just for profit for some big company.
