After being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Essentia Health’s Center for Personal Fitness will be reopening Monday, June 15 at 25 percent of their normal capacity.

The capacity limit is per Minnesota Governor Tim Walz Stay Safe order as it pertains to gyms and personal fitness centers.

The Center for Personal Fitness, located at Essentia’s Miller Hill Health Plaza, in the former Younkers building, will open for guests at 5:30 a.m. Monday.

According to their press release:

Facility modifications will be in place to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and keep our guests and staff safe. Those include a defined flow pattern that will emphasize effective social distancing; equipment will be set up and spaced at least six feet apart; numerous sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the facility; and staff members will wear face masks at all times, as well as gloves when interacting with guests.

Guest are encouraged to bring their own towels, although they will be provided if that is not possible.  In terms of amenities, locker rooms, the therapy pool and studios will be available.

Other equipment and workout options include:

  • Cardio machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, bikes, rowing machines, arm bike
  • Weight machines with weight plates and cables
  • Free weight area with dumbbells, barbells, squat rack, bench press, leg press
  • Stretching area with floor mats, medicine balls, kettle bells, resistance bands
    Indoor track (16 laps=1 mile)
  • Therapy pool – Smaller, heated pool easier on joints

Upon reopening, Essentia Health’s Center for Personal Fitness will be operating under their regular business hours, Monday - Friday from 5:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
