The City of Cloquet is set to host the Frozen Forester Ski, Bike, Shoe Winter Triathlon + 5K, which is a terrific family event designed primarily to enjoy the great outdoors.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 2 and it consists of a 6.8 mile ski, 4.6 mile petal, and a 3.1 mile no shoe/snow shoe run.  According to organizers:

All three start and end at the Pine Valley Chalet. The ski is two laps on the Pine Valley ski trail. Ski using either the skating or classic technique. The bike is two laps on the new Pine Valley mountain bike trail. The run follows the Frozen Forester's ribbon line for 5K or 3.1 miles. Like any forester, runners will be off trail. Depending on snow conditions, snowshoes might or might not be useful. It will be easy to walk. Not so to run. Oh by the way, Pine Valley is hilly - not mountain like and not prairie flat.

Participants can sign up for events as individuals or as part of a relay team.

If you're more interested in a straight-up 5K, you can register for the Frozen Forester 5K which consists of running or hiking one loop off-trail following the Frozen Forester’s ribbon trail.
