We are in peak conditions in Northern Minnesota for fall colors. I-35 was packed full of cars heading back home after viewing fall colors up in our great Northland. Everyone loves going up the North Shore, but there's actually some other great locations that may be less crowded.

The MN DNR has some suggestions on routes you should take on late September and early October. You can take the Kabetogama State Forest loop which is north of Orr, Minnesota. In the northwestern part of the state, you can also find some great colors in the White Earth State Forest.  Near Grand Rapids, the DNR also suggest the Bowstring State Forest.

You can see all the directions and routes to take on their website. It's a great way to spend the day with the family, and spend some time outdoors. Fall is a beautiful time of year in Minnesota, and here's just another way to enjoy our region.
