Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower Going Teal This Weekend
Duluth's iconic Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower will be bathed in teal light on Friday, September 16 and Saturday, September 17 as part of an awareness campaign for ovarian cancer. This campaign, called "Light Duluth Teal" is an awareness campaign and series of fundraising events for Charlene's Light that is happening September 15-18.
The lighting of the bridge and Enger Tower will commence at dusk on Friday, and will be in place both Friday and Saturday night in support of the cause. Other events and fundraising opportunities tied to Light Duluth Teal include the following:
- Thursday, September 15
- 15% of sales between 5 pm and 11 pm at the Duluth Applebee's will be donated to Charlene's Light
- Friday, September 16
- 10% of sales between 5 pm and 10 pm at the Duluth Buffalo Wild Wings will be donated to Charlene's Light
- Saturday, September 16
- An event will be held at the DECC Harborside Ballroom, including dinner, live entertainment, wine auction, and silent auction to benefit Charlene's Light. Seven-time Olympic gymnastic medalist and ovarian cancer survivor Shannon Miller will be the keynote speaker. You can learn more about this event and get tickets here.
- Sunday, September 18
- The fourth annual Elizabeth Busche Memorial Golf Tournament will take place at Enger Park Golf Course. You can find more information on this event here.
Charlene's Light is a foundation for ovarian cancer named for Charlene Postigo, who passed away from the disease on April 12, 2008. You can learn more about the organization here.
