Duluth Airshow Adds Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Show To Lineup
The Duluth Airshow announced on their Facebook page that they have added another exciting performer to their roster for this year's event, scheduled for Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17.
Smoke-N-Thunder will replace the SHOCKWAVE Jet Truck after a tragic accident took the life of SHOCKWAVE driver Chris Darnell in Michigan as reported by a previous article and on the SHOCKWAVE Facebook page.
Smoke-N-Thunder's truck is called Hot Streak II, and it can travel up to speeds of 350 MPH with twin jet engines in a 57 Chevy body. You can feel the ground shake as the truck passes by you. It's a stable truck with 15-inch tires that are 5 inches wide in the front, and 10 inches wide in the back.
There is a custom-built seat for the driver and it comes in an 80 ft long truck to travel the nation. This is a truck that can move and when it's time to stop it's fitted with two ring-slot parachutes (two 16 ft. mains and two 16 ft. reserve); one on-board fire extinguisher system
