Sure, it might be 75 and sunny in the Twin Cities and other places around the state, but have you been to Canal Park in May and June?

Visit Duluth is asking for help appealing to Minnesota governor Tim Walz and his decision to allow restaurants to open again, but only with outdoor seating.

Clearly it isn't nice enough to comfortably dine outside in much of the Twin Ports right now, and it won't be for at least another month or so.

Visit Duluth and Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce has sent out a message today asking people to record a short video testimonial to share the obstacles to outdoor dining in the area, including the weather, lack of space, or other factors.

They say in the email, "In order to save our small businesses, we need the governor to reconsider and allow us to open safely as other states are doing"

They also shared an example of a video that was submitted by Tony Bronson of Grandma's Restaurants, in the video he says, "it's 50 degrees out, chilly, this is a Friday lunchtime where Canal Park is basically empty. This is the truth of outdoor dining in Duluth, it's not a sustainable thing."

They are asking that anyone record a video, even if you're not associated with a restaurant in the area. Use the hashtag #savehospitality for your video testimonials or send them to info@hospitalitymn.com.
