Get ready, big changes are coming to the Duluth Target store, here is a list of changes you can expect to happen throughout much of the rest of the year as the remodeling project gets underway.

It was reported late last year that permits were being filed with the City of Duluth for the extensive remodel that will include adding some additional space to the store and some additional changes, now we know what many of those are.

I heard that the remodeling project was set to begin next month and I wanted to get a better picture of what changes we can expect in Duluth, so I reached out to Target and got a lengthy list of changes coming to our favorite Target store.

Let's dig into it, there is a lot. First, let's take a look at some of the new additions, these include a new nursing space, updated restrooms with touchless features, new and expanded food and beverage assortment (look for the addition of adult beverages), and new dedicated areas for their partnerships with Apple and Ulta. You can also expect some changes to the in-store Starbucks.

The shopping experience will also be enhanced with the addition of "Modern décor and fixtures, additional mannequins and displays, and specialty LED lighting to create a shopping experience for guests that is both hip and cool, and warm and inviting," according to Target.

The home, apparel, and beauty areas of the store will also see big improvements according to Target, with new "Dynamic, engaging merchandise displays...to provide guests with inspiration and style and help them visualize how to pair products together."

If you do a lot of pick-up and drive-up orders at the Duluth Target, you'll notice new and expanded spaces and services for a "fast, safe and convenient shopping experience."

Target says they are also making some changes to the checkout area " that promote guest and team member safety, including larger spaces between checkout lanes and Plexiglas barriers where needed. We also offer a contactless self-checkout experience with Wallet, the mobile payment option in the Target app, regardless of where guests choose to check out in stores."

Expect construction to begin soon and according to a Target spokesperson, the remodel will be completed "later this year."
