The Greater Downtown Council is starting a new free series called Downtown Table Talk.

It's another series the Greater Downtown Council is using as a mentor program and I see it helping local business people. With everyone being able to share ideas and being able to ask questions about business and what's going on in the business community.

On Wednesday, February 24th at 9 am, the first meeting will take place and will be a virtual event. The programs will feature Duluth Professionals either sharing their skills and special talents or providing people with the information to stay up on what is going on in the community around them.

The first in the series of Downtown Table Talks will start with social media aces Emily Ekstrom from Hucklebeary and Jane Pederson Jandi from Glensheen. They will have tips and instruction and a little insight on how they use social media to promote their businesses and how they have been surviving the COVID business slowdowns.

The meeting will all be virtual at this point and nothing has been said about whether the GDC will make them into meetings that are not featured on the internet. With COVID the way it is, it is better for everyone concerned to hold it online. The meetings will be on Zoom, which everyone is used to using by now. Times are challenging for businesses, especially small businesses and local business. This is a way for everyone to get together and share what is working or ideas that may help keep that business afloat.
