You don't need a degree or certificate to call yourself or event be a writer.  Some of the best writers that I know have zero formal training and create art through words as a hobby or even as a career.  If you have the gift of writing in any style, there are many avenues to share that art, especially in the age of the internet.

There will be a theme for this year's contest, and that will be "Lockdown".  You can feel free to interpret it however you want, but please remember to keep your submissions free of graphic violent of sexual content.  There is a cost to participate of $35 if you are not a member, but it comes with membership to Lake Superior Writers.  You can get more information on the contest rules and guidelines HERE.
