Extremely Loud Thunder Scares Players at Rangers Ballpark During Twins / Rangers Game [VIDEO]
In the top of the 4th inning of Sunday's (July 8 ) game between the visiting Minnesota Twins and hosting Texas Rangers, a clap of thunder scared players off the field for a brief time-out.
Lightning struck near Rangers Ballpark, causing a flash and deafening clap of thunder that scared Ryan Doumit and Mike Napoli away from home plate. Among others shaken by the commotion; Josh Willingham, who was on base at the time, dropped to the ground.
After the initial scare, everyone seemed to have a sense of humor about the situation. Ben Revere tweeted this about the situation:
My heart stopped when I heard the thunder at the stadium.. Glad no heard me scream like a little girl too!!! Lol
Denard Span had a comment about the rumble too, tweeting:
That's the loudest noise I've ever heard. I thought Jesus was comin!
