First Avenue East in Duluth Reopens August 8

First Avenue East in Duluth is ready to reopen, which marks the first avenue to be completed under Phase II of the Superior Street Reconstruction Project.  The avenue will officially open on Thursday, August 8.

On a related note, the City of Duluth says the reopening of First Avenue East will also trigger the the closure of Third Avenue East to vehicular traffic.  Traffic on Michigan Street from First Avenue East through Fourth Avenue East will convert to two-way for the remainder of Phase II of the Superior Street Reconstruction Project.

As the reconstruction project continues, it's important to note that businesses downtown Duluth are still accessible with free parking available in some places to encourage people to visit all that downtown Duluth has to offer.
