The more you know! Google has released a list of the most popular cocktail per state as we all hunker down at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Thrillist.com, Google has seen a spike in searches for cocktail recipes since the pandemic began. They looked at which recipes people were looking at in each different state over a period of 30 days.

So which drink do Minnesotans seem to be taking a liking to - or at least experimenting with? An oliveto.

I had never even heard of an oliveto so I did some research. Apparently, the unusual drink features olive oil, an egg white and gin. It also features a splash of lemon juice and simple syrup. I am not entirely sure why we've been searching for this particular drink in the Land of 10,000 Lakes but it definitely seems interesting!

Wisconsin on the other hand seems to be searching for a classic cocktail recipe: the grasshopper! The sweet treat features creme de menthe and heavy cream and is usually consumed as an after meal treat.

It makes sense that Google would see an uptick in searches for cocktail recipes, thanks to quarantine and not being able to go out to bars and restaurants.

In April, Google saw a surge in searches for recipes. The most popular search at that time was for banana bread, followed by searches for pancakes, chicken, pizza dough and brownies. This is also directly connected to the pandemic, as we've taken up new hobbies during quarantine.
