The Duluth Parks and Recreation Department does a great job offering plenty of free activities for the whole family throughout the year.  While a lot of those happen in the warmer Twin Port's seasons, they aren't slowing down as we approach snowfall.

Just in time for Halloween, there is a great event coming up that is tailored just for seniors and their grandkids.  On Saturday, October 23rd things will get spooky at the Morgan Park Community Recreation Center.  It's called "Ghosts, Ghouls, and Grandkids", and it's totally free for those attending.

There will be plenty of activities including crafts and various games, most with a Halloween theme.  It runs from 11:30AM-3:30PM, and make sure you dress up as there is a chance to win some prizes.  For the costume contest, there will be prizes for the best grandparent and grandchild costume combos, and also prizes for the best kids' costumes.

Since it is for adults and kids alike, it won't be overly scary for the little ones.  It's definitely a good opportunity for some family bonding that won't break the bank, unless you want to really go all out with the costumes to ensure you win a prize.  The Morgan Park Community Recreation Center is located at 1242 88th Avenue West in Duluth, MN.  If you have any questions about the event you can give them a call at 218-626-4521.  You can get more information on this and other special events put on by the Duluth Parks and Recreation Department HERE.
