A quick project at the 27th Avenue West ramp at southbound I-35 will bring a daytime closure for drivers on Tuesday, January 7.  According to advance information released by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the ramp is expected to be out of service to drivers between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

MNDOT says that the reason for the closure is advance site work for the Twin Ports Interchange project (Can of Worms) - which is expected to kick off in the spring of 2020.  While the ramp is closed, work crews will perform drilling and surveying tasks in the area.

Officials fully expect that the project will wrap up on time and be finished by the end of the anticipated timeline (3:00 PM).  However - like any road project, completion is tied to a variety of factors including the weather and unforeseen factors.
