Just a month ago I shared that there was going to be a Military Appreciation Party & Fundraiser at a local bar in Northern Minnesota. The money raised would be donated to the local VFW and used primarily for Honor Flights for Veterans.

Honor Flights are all-expense paid trips for veterans to visit our nation's memorials. The national organization flew 23,045 Veterans in 2019 to different memorials where they could share a day of honor.

The Clip Joint Bar & Grill in Alborn Minnesota threw their annual Military Appreciation Party on Saturday, August 6, 2022. The bar had live music, a horseshoe tournament, a bean bag tournament, a retiring of American Flags, raffle prizes, and much more happening. It was the biggest Military Appreciation Party they have had yet, raising $9,100.

On Thursday, August 25, owner Dougie Spillers presented the check to the American Legion and Auxiliary Tester Nieme Post #562.

They had people come to the party and donate from all across the region. Even some Sheriff Candidates stopped by to shake hands. They hope to be able to continue and grow the fundraiser for years to come, so be on the lookout for next year's Military Appreciation Party.

Their charitable fundraising also continues this Weekend with their 3rd annual "Throwing Bags for ALS" fundraiser. They'll have prizes for the top three teams, and money raised will support ALS.
